About Me

I am a country girl who didn’t care much for the country as a teenager. I always wanted to leave. But now married in my early 30s I am enjoying it again. I want to make the most from gardening and preparing. Not building a bomb shelter or going to drastic measures. Just preparing for financial problems or other problems that may occur.

However, some of my fondest memories as a child was helping my grandma can. My mom and me would help her can, fix green beans. Lots of happy memories. I miss those simple times. I do find it amusing that today I see all of these “Homestead” and “going back to basics” sites and blogs, but when my mom was young and during my grandma’s life it was called living.

Follow me as I post my struggles and lessons learned about such a life in rural heaven.
